Trained volunteers monitor the activity of sea turtles and mark nests on the beaches. The town also sponsors weekly children’s craft sessions as well as yoga, weekly movies, game nights, beach clean up and holiday events.
Highland Beach is a gorgeous coastal hammock paradise where residents and visitors can enjoy the three-mile stretch of beach regarded by some as virtually private due to the secluded location! There are also numerous outdoor activities to enjoy in the nearby towns of Delray Beach and Boca Raton. Both neighbouring towns offer excellent golf, tennis and water sports facilities for all ages.
Founded in 1949 with only 21 residents, Highland Beach is proud of its small town status and its almost entirely residential architecture. The “main street” is famed as the beautiful tree-lined stretch of the A1A – Florida’s state road.
